Presentation
A three-hour drive from Medellín will take you to the Magdalena Medio region, where you will enjoy a unique Colombian landscape: lush mountains, a tropical rainforest, a river with rapids that promise an exciting day of canoeing (rafting) and where artisanal gold mining is also practiced.
Then, you will travel along the track of the old Antioquia Railroad, in handcrafted carriages, just as the local population does. Along the railroad tracks, amidst lush vegetation, you will see villages and hamlets that are now almost forgotten, but were very popular during the time when the Antioquia Railroad operated (1929 to 1999).
In this experience you will connect with nature and with typical expressions of what life was like in the paisa people years ago.

– Integrate with a rural population that preserves centuries-old customs of the Paisa culture.
– Enjoy a typical and homemade lunch, as consumed daily by the local inhabitants.
Itinerary
– Mid-morning snack: a stop is made along the way for a typical Antioquian drink (aguapanela, hot chocolate or mazamorra).
– Rafting: a boat ride of approximately two hours. You will pass through rapids, areas of “barequeo” (artisanal gold mining), a place to have lunch and take a bath in the river and you will be able to visit some peasant houses (subject to availability of its inhabitants).
– Transportation in handcrafted carriages: a tour of approximately 45 minutes, crossing the tropical rainforest of the Magdalena Medio area.
